NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard remained steady today in the key wholesale market of Jaipur, Rajasthan, despite a rise in arrivals, market players said.
In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold at 5,900-5,925 rupees per 100 kg, unchanged from Saturday as supply matched demand for the oilseed, said Rupesh Parekh, a local trader.
Arrivals of the oilseed were pegged at 250,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg) in Jaipur, compared with 150,000 bags on Saturday and arrivals across the country were estimated at 500,000 bags, up 175,000 bags from Saturday.
In its third advance estimate, the government has pegged the country’s mustard production for the 2022-23 (Jul-Jun) crop year at 12.5 mln tn, against 12.0 mln tn the previous year.
Refined SOYBEAN was sold at 1,003-1,019 rupees per 10 kg in the key wholesale markets of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, down by 10 rupees from Friday, according to a poll by Cogencis.
The US Department of Agriculture has projected global oilseed output in 2023-24 (May-Apr) at 667.3 mln tn, lower from 671.4 mln tn forecast in June.
Further, the agency has projected global soybean output at 405.31 mln tn, lower from 410.70 mln tn estimated in the previous forecast. End
