KOTTAYAM. DEC.9:
Spot rubber prices were on Monday. Most counters ruled firm on comparatively better demand and low supplies, while RSS 4 finished unchanged reacting closely to the weak closing in domestic futures. Volumes were low.
Sheet rubber ruled steady at Rs 151 a kg, according to traders. The grade improved to Rs 151 (Rs 150.50) and Rs 148 (Rs 147.50) respectively, according to the Rubber Board and dealers.
December futures declined to Rs 151.80 (Rs 153.61), January to Rs 153.68 (Rs 155.79) and February to Rs 156.22 (Rs 158.15), while March and April futures were inactive on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
RSS 3 (spot) increased marginally to Rs 157.77 (Rs 157.53) at Bangkok. December futures closed at ¥ 275.3 (Rs 163.07) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
Spot rubber rates Rs/kg were: RSS-4: 151 (151); RSS-5: 142 (141); Ungraded: 138 (137); ISNR 20: 143.50 (143.50) and Latex 60%: 108 (107.50).
