Official tyre partner of the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC), Giti Tire has identified Le Mans and Donington’s Convoy in the Park as 2024’s big highlights among another rip-roaring season.
The seven meeting schedule marked the first time the BTRC has raced at the famed Le Mans circuit in France, with Giti-liveried Team Oliver Racing’s two trucks collecting five trophies across four races including two second and three third place finishes.
At Donington the truck and bus team welcomed over 1,000 partners from big fleet contracts and Giti Dealers from Germany, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales who joined more than 100,000 spectators at what is billed as the UK’s biggest truck motorsport event.
Ryan Smith of Worldwide Truck Racing continued his domination of BTRC’s top tier with 524 points, a full 95 ahead of second place Steven Powell of 333 Motorsport.
Michael Oliver and Stuart Oliver of Giti Tire Motorsport and Team Oliver Racing finished fourth and ninth respectively.
Throughout 2024, Giti Tire remained the Official Partner and Exclusive Tyre Supplier to the BTRC, with all competition trucks fitted with GitiCompete Race-Tuned v1 competition truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.
This year’s Giti Tire Motorsport activity has been underpinned with its co-branding agreement as global automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, which is based upon the companies’ shared philosophies and values of ‘racing, performance, research and development and continuous safety.”
Stefan Brohs, Marketing Director – Europe for Giti Tire, said: “2024 has been a fantastic year with a fantastic level of interaction with BTRC fans, especially at Le Mans and Donington, and extensive coverage through TV, socials and print. It goes without saying we have also seen world-class racing.
“Throughout the season we have received positive feedback from our customers and upwards development of the activity’s KPIs, add into the equation the high target group coverage and we have a solid basis for long-term collaboration with Team Oliver Racing and the BTRC.
“2025 will be the seventh year we have sponsored Team Oliver Racing and the fourth with Giti as Exclusive Tyre Supplier for the BTRC.”
