For over two decades, Heuver Tyres from the Netherlands has been the official distributor of Aeolus industrial tyres for no fewer than nine European countries, including the BeNeLux, Germany and France. The range of truck and earthmoving tyres has been very extensive from the start. In later years, a series of flotation tyres – for sand tippers, among other things – and MPT tyres were added. Within the latter segment, Aeolus now offers a complete range of tyres for mobile excavators.
Tyres for mobile excavators are certainly not new to the Aeolus range. For example, the AGP23 (in size 445/65R22.5 for single mounting) and the AEX-1 (as 10.00-20 for dual mounting) have been available for this type of vehicle for many years. In order to cover this segment even better, the Aeolus technical development team, in collaboration with the earthmoving specialists of Heuver Tyres, has developed a number of new tyres. Three new patterns will be introduced on the market in the form of the AEX-5, the AX-1 and the AX-2, which will be available in a number of other, also frequently used sizes.
290/90-20 AEOLUS AEX-5 18PR TT SET
The 290/90-20 AEOLUS AEX-5 18PR TT SET will be available from mid-May. These diagonal tyres – for dual mounting – are mounted on multi-piece 8.00V-20 rims without spacers, but with inner tubes and rim flaps; the optimal combination for ease of maintenance and service. The new and reinforced casing offers maximum stability and a high load capacity.
The AEX-5 has a minimal negative tread, which reduces the risk of punctures. In addition, the robust pattern ensures high traction and even wear. The AEX-5 has excellent self-cleaning properties, which reduces the accumulation of mud and dirt. It has a long service life, even with frequent use on rough terrain. The superior strength of the sidewall provides additional protection against impacts and cuts from outside. All this together makes the AEX-5 extremely suitable for use in demanding conditions.
315/70R22.5 AEOLUS AX-1 22PR TL
The 315/70R22.5 AEOLUS AX-1 22PR TL – also for dual mounting – is suitable for standard construction applications. The radial casing construction ensures good heat dissipation. This tubeless tyre is mounted on 9.00×22.5 excavator rims, without spacers. The tyre has an extra fender on the sidewall, which offers good protection against punctures and ensures a tight fit between the rims to prevent dirt accumulation.
The AX-1 has excellent road holding and reduced rolling resistance, which ensures lower fuel consumption. The flat tread design offers a lot of driving comfort, also on the road. Thanks to a uniform wear pattern, the tire’s lifespan is extended. Finally, the low noise level improves the comfort of the operator. The AX-1 is therefore a true all-rounder that performs well both off-road and on the road.
315/70R22.5 AEOLUS AX-2 22PR TL
The 315/70R22.5 AEOLUS AX-2 22PR TL will be available from stock from mid-April. The reinforced radial casing offers a high load capacity, which reduces the risk of blowouts. Thanks to the dual mounting, these tyres ensure high stability of the machine. The AX-2 is also mounted on 9.00×22.5 excavator rims without spacers, are tubeless and have an extra fender on the sidewall for puncture protection, a tight fit and to prevent dirt accumulation between the rims.
The aggressive tread pattern of the AX-2 ensures improved traction on loose and uneven surfaces, such as on construction sites. The improved, self-cleaning pattern also prevents clogging in muddy conditions. At the same time, the tread ensures low vibrations, which improves driving comfort. This makes the AX-2 very suitable for heavy construction applications.
