Alliance, a leading global brand of agricultural and off-highway tyres, hosted an engaging and insightful Field Day on April 16, 2025, at the farm of renowned German farmer and content creator Stefan Vogelsang (@hof_vogelsang). The event brought together farmers and industry experts to explore the latest advancements in farm tyre technology and their impact on soil health and farming efficiency. With 150 attendees and a strong social media echo regarding the topics of soil conservation through tyre technology and pressure, the event was a great success.
The Field Day featured a series of hands-on demonstrations designed to highlight the critical role of tyre technology in modern farming. Attendees had the opportunity to witness firsthand how Alliance’s innovative tyre solutions, including VF (Very High Flexion) technology, can improve soil preservation, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance overall farm productivity.
How Tyre Technology Saves Soil
Visitors experienced the impact of tyire technology and tyre pressure on soil firsthand through a series of field demonstrations. Key highlights included:
Soil Compaction and Footprint Demo: Demonstrations showcased the difference in soil compaction between high-pressure and low-pressure tyres. Attendees observed how Alliance VF tyres, with their larger footprints, minimise soil compaction, improve water permeability, and ultimately contribute to higher yields. Host Stefan Vogelsang ran a tractor and tandem slurry tanker over the station, once at 0.8 bar of tyre pressure and once at 2.6 bar. The result: at the lower tyre pressure, the compaction caused by the machinery was 15 cm less deep, making it accessible with a standard cultivator. “This just goes to show the importance of avoiding compaction in lower layers to maintain a good soil structure and water permeability,” he commented.
Slippage Demo: This demo illustrated how proper tyre pressure and VF technology reduce slippage, optimise traction, and save energy, resulting in more efficient fieldwork.
Tyre Pressure Demo: Participants learned the importance of correct tyre pressure settings and how they impact tyre longevity, fuel efficiency, and work speed. Attendees had the chance to measure and adjust tyre pressures themselves, gaining practical insights into tyre management.
How Stefan Vogelsang Uses Alliance
The Field Day also featured a range of cutting-edge agricultural machinery equipped with Alliance tyres, including the Fendt 728 with and the John Deere 6R215 with Alliance Agriflex+ 372 tyres. These machines demonstrated the real-world benefits of Alliance’s tyre technology, from reduced soil impact to improved traction in challenging conditions.
