Sporty driving and all-season tyres – do they go together? Introducing: Michelin presents the next generation of the successful CrossClimate all-season tyre range – the Michelin CrossClimate 3 and the Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport. For the first time, Michelin is also offering a winter-compatible all-season tyre version for drivers of sports cars and high-performance saloons. Sporty driving is no longer seasonal.
With the new CrossClimate range, Michelin offers all-season tyres for all vehicle classes and regardless of the drive type (Internal Combustion Engine, hybrid, electric): from small cars to family cars and sports cars. The company sets standards not only for ambitious, sporty driving, but also in terms of performance, reliability and durability. “The all-season tyre segment has been growing continuously in Europe for years,” says Agostino Mazzocchi, Vice President B2C Sales of Michelin Europe North Region. “Customers are demanding increasingly flexible and powerful solutions that meet the growing diversity of driving profiles. We can also see this dynamic in the light commercial vehicle segment, where all-season tyres are also recording double-digit annual growth.”
The new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport: On the road 365 days a year
With the new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport, Michelin meets the needs of customers with sporty and high-performance vehicles: they seek tyres that offer good handling in all driving conditions. The new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport features the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) marking, which means it is also suitable for wintry road conditions. Michelin has developed the tyre to meet the requirements of sports car drivers who want to enjoy the dynamic properties of their vehicle reliably all year round.
Characteristics:
• Precise handling on dry and wet roads as well as on wintry roads
• Very good wet braking properties (all sizes have the highest wet grip rating A according to the European tyre labelling regulation EU VO 2020/740)
• With 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) marking approved for wintry conditions
• Suitable for electric vehicles where weight and torque present additional challenges for tyres
“The new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport is as surprising as it is good! When I first tested it on the roads of Auvergne, I felt like I was riding on a normal sports tyre. It combines comfort, precise handling and sportiness,” says Matthieu Vaxivière, professional racing driver.
Technologies:
• The Michelin Dynamic-Response technology stems from motorsport: the hybrid belt made of aramid and nylon accurately transfers control impulses to the road and offers a reliable feeling of control.
• Michelin V-Shape technology: The tread grooves become wider from the centre to the shoulder. This improves the water drainage both when new and when worn.
The Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport will be available in 30 dimensions, rim sizes 18-21″, the largest being 295/35 R21 107Y from 1 July 2025.
Michelin CrossClimate 3: the new generation of all-season tyres
The third generation of the Michelin CrossClimate underlines Michelin’s ambition to offer an all-season tyre that delivers reliable performance all year round: from the first to the last mile, from city speedsters to family cars and for vehicles with combustion engines as well as electric drives. The Michelin CrossClimate 3 adapts to all weather conditions and guarantees driving stability from the first mile to the national minimum tread depth.
Characteristics:
• 4% more grip on wet roads compared to previous generation (wet grip rating B of the European tyre labelling regulation EU VO 2020/740)
• 15% longer service life compared to previous generation
• With 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake) marking approved for wintry conditions
• Suitable for electric vehicles where weight and torque present additional challenges for tyres
The Michelin CrossClimate 3 will be available in 64 sizes from 16 to 20 inches from July 2025.
All tyres in the new Michelin CrossClimate 3 range are manufactured in Europe at Michelin’s plants in Bad Kreuznach (Germany), Valladolid (Spain), Vitoria (Spain), Nyíregyháza (Hungary), Cuneo (Italy), Olsztyn (Poland) and Pirot (Serbia). The dimensions with the most complex design of the Michelin Crossclimate 3 are manufactured in Roanne (France).
With the new generation Michelin CrossClimate 3, Michelin underlines its innovative strength in the development of all-season tyres. The company launched the first generation in 2015, followed by the second in 2021. Over the years, Michelin has managed to push the boundaries of this hybrid technology even further and offer tyres that combine the characteristics of a summer tyre with good winter suitability.
