The legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring promises top-class motorsport again soon and Toyo Tires will be right in the middle of it from June 19 to 22. Together with the “Toyo Tires with Ring Racing” team, the tyre manufacturer is taking on the Green Hell and at the same time using the extreme race as a high-performance test field for the further development of its road tyres.
Current tyre tests show that the commitment on the race track pays off: the PROXES Sport 2 impressed the ADAC, ÖAMTC and TCS in the spring with ratings ranging from “good” to “highly recommended”. The PROXES Comfort also secured another “good” rating in the Auto Bild sports tyre test.
The fast line-up for the green hell Toyo Tires is competing in various classes with four vehicles. The highlight: starting number 347, a Porsche 911 GT3 CUP MR, driven by the experienced drivers Andreas Gülden, Tim Sandtler and Marc Hennerici. The line-up is complemented by two Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2023 – #160 in SP 8T and #170 in SP 10 – as well as another Supra (#520) in the VT2-RWD class.
The 24h qualifiers on May 24 and 25 offered a foretaste of the 24h race. Despite typical Nürburgring weather with a mix of sun and rain, the Supra #170 took 2nd and 1st place in the SP10 – as did the Supra #520 in the VT2-RWD with 1st and 2nd place. With every race lap, Toyo Tyres gathers valuable knowledge to raise its high-performance products to a new level, for more performance and safety in everyday life. True to the motto: racing as an engine of innovation.
