Halfords has announced the appointment of Adam Pay as the Managing Director of Garages at Halfords. Adam will lead Halfords’ growing garage services business, taking over from Karen Bellairs, who continues with the business as Chief Customer Officer. Adam will report directly to Henry Birch, Chief Executive Officer, and will join the company’s Executive Team.
Adam brings more than 20 years of senior operational experience in the automotive and service sectors. His previous roles include Managing Director of mycar and Kmart Tyre & Auto in Australia, Deputy Chair of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, and previously, Operations Manager at Kwik-Fit in the UK. He joins Halfords at a pivotal time of growth and transformation across its garage network, with a clear mandate to expand services, harness innovation, and deliver outstanding customer experiences nationwide.
Last year, Halfords updated the management structures at the very top of the business to oversee better delivery of programmes and better accountability for business performance by channel. This included a dedicated Managing Director for each of the Retail, Garage Services and B2B businesses.
Commenting on the appointment, Henry Birch, CEO of Halfords, said:
“Adam is an outstanding leader with deep industry expertise and a proven track record of driving operational excellence at scale. I’m delighted to welcome him to the Executive Team. With Adam at the helm of our garage services division, we’re well-positioned to accelerate growth and continue delivering for our customers. I’d also like to thank Karen for her exemplary leadership of the garage business and look forward to her continued contribution as CCO.”
