The Malaysian rubber market finished lower for the third consecutive day due to lack of buying support, dealers said.
A dealer said the Tokyo rubber futures managed to stay above the nine-month low despite weaker stock markets and stronger yen.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 lost 6.5 sen to 705.50 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk shed 4.0 sen to 550 a kg.
Meanwhile, the unofficial seller’s closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 decreased 10.5 sen to 699.50 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk declined 5 sen to 547 sen a kg.– Bernama
