HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares fell 0.28 percent on Friday morning following a negative lead from Wall Street, while investors were also retreating after a more than two percent rally over the past two days.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 69.09 points to 24,399.80 by lunch on turnover of HK$ 50.98 billion ($ 6.58 billion).
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.23 percent, or 8.40 points, to 3,573.87.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.57 percent, or 10.34 points, to 1,838.20.
