HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session 0.57 percent higher Monday, in line with a regional advance following healthy gains in New York and Europe.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 140.04 points to 24,515.28 by lunch on turnover of HK$ 50.05 billion ($ 6.46 billion).
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.63 percent, or 58.88 points, to 3,676.20.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 2.02 percent, or 37.39 points, to 1,890.33.
