TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rose 0.99 percent on Monday, as global markets get a boost from speculation that the US Federal Reserve will not rush to hike interest rates.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which closed at a fresh 15-year high on Friday, added 194.14 points to close at 19,754.36, while the Topix index of all first-section shares climbed 0.74 percent, or 11.74 points, to 1,592.25.
