“It is widely known, that the UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has initiated two transition reviews into anti-dumping (T0035) and anti-subsidy (T0036) measures on lorry and bus tyres imported from China.
Over the last week, a number of our manufacturing and wholesale / importer members have contacted the NTDA to express concern at the deadline associated with the completion of the pre-sampling forms for T0035 and TS0036, which were to be submitted by Thursday 18th May.
Given the complexity and nature of the international tyre industry, many of our members said that additional time was needed to allow them to provide meaningful observations and evidence in those aforementioned pre-sampling questionnaires.
The NTDA considers the original time-scale provided to be very short under the circumstances, especially in light of the recent May bank holiday and additional bank holiday provided for the King’s Coronation, which disrupted the normal workflow of many businesses.
In light of the above-mentioned reasons, we respectfully requested that the TRA grant an extension to Monday 29 May 2023.
We have received written confirmation, from the TRA, that the extension has been granted and we now strongly urge manufacturers, importers and wholesalers who will be affected by the outcomes of the review, whether positively or negatively, to engage, have their say and submit their arguments, observations and evidence on the TRA’s online case platform as soon as practicable.
This will ensure, whatever the outcome, that the views of all parties will have been taken into consideration in an objective manner.”
