OTTAWA: Canada’s main stock index rose shortly after the opening bell on Thursday as gains in consumer and tech stocks offset declines in commodity-related companies.
At 9:35 a.m. ET (1335 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 14.51 points, or 0.1 percent, to 14,567.84.
