Turkish petrochemical producer Petkim dropped its polypropylene, low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, and polyvinyl chloride prices this week on weak demand and bearish price expectations, sources said Monday.
PP raffia and fibre prices were listed at $1,500-$1,510/mt FCA Aliaga, and $1,525/mt FCA Aliaga, down $35/mt. LDPE prices were listed at $1,655-$1,665/mt, down $45/mt.
HDPE prices for injection, blowmolding, and film were listed at $1,635/mt, $1,635/mt and $1,600/mt respectively. Down $45/mt, $55/mt and $55/mt respectively.
PVC K 67 prices were listed at $1,135/mt, down $25/mt.
Officials at Petkim were not immediately available to comment.
A trade source said Turkish prices were at a premium to prices in China, creating a downward pressure on Turkish prices. Last assessed Turkish PP homo prices were on Wednesday at $1,382-$1,386/mt CFR Turkey. Asian daily PP prices were assessed at $1,185/mt CFR FE Asia Monday.
