KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 293,177 tonnes of cargo comprising 206,655 tonnes of import cargo and 86,521 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending at 0700 Hours.
The total import cargo of 206,656 comprised of 122,309 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 1,691 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 1,766 tonnes of Rock Phosphate & 80,890 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 86,521 tonnes comprised of 66,827 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 269 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 12,225 tonnes of Clinkers & 7,200 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo. Nearly, 10417 containers comprising of 6046 containers import and 4371 containers export were handled on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1374 of 20’s and 1856 of 40’s loaded while 62 of 20’s and 449 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 839 of 20’s and 815 of 40’s loaded containers while 496 of 20’s and 703 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 13 ships namely, Gion Trader, Sea Delta, MT Quetta, Hyundai Brave, Cma Cgm Pegasus, Lowlands Amstel, Ever Utile, Anbien Bay, GFS Prime, Um Elhanaya, Pure Point and APL Antwerp have berthed at Karachi Port.
Approximately, 12 ships namely, Pelagica, Msc Michaela, Shan Hu Zho, Bulk Castor, OOCL Memphis, Bougainville, MT Shalamar, Sea Delta, Cma Cgm Pegasus, Hyundai Brave and Zi Jing Song have sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 09 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them Chemicals carrier‘ Isabella Kosan’ is also sailed out on Monday morning on 12th June, & three more ships, Galissas, Ning Tai Hai and America are expected to sail on same day.
A cargo Volume of 88,217tonnes, comprising 74,039 tones imports Cargo and 14,178 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 834 Containers (0 TEUs Imports and 834 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours. There are nine ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them two ships, Calypso Gas and Demeter & another LNG carrier ‘Fuwairit’ are expected to take berths at EVTL, FOTCO and EETL on Monday, 12th June, &two more containerships, Maersk Denver and MSC Madeleine are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023.
