BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont natural gas provider and a New York pipe contractor have filed lawsuits against each other claiming breach of contract involving a proposed 42-mile natural gas transmission pipeline.
The Burlington Free Press reports (http://bfpne.ws/1LHlObX) Vermont Gas Inc. sued Over & Under Piping Contractors Inc. of Auburn, New York, late last week in Superior Court in Burlington. Vermont Gas says the firm did not complete its work properly and began work without an executed contract.
Records show Over & Under filed its own civil lawsuit this week in U.S. District Court in Burlington. It’s seeking over $ 11 million for breach of contract, wrongful termination of a contract, willful concealment and detrimental reliance.
Vermont Gas says it looks forward to resolving the billing dispute.
Over & Under officials declined to comment.
