KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) — The Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry is expected to announce a new standard for the import and export of timber and rubber products before year-end.
It includes plywood and SMR 20 rubber grade.
Its Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the new standard would help ensure the quality and competitiveness of both commodities.
He was speaking to reporters after the Malaysia Timber Industry Board’s Hari Raya Open house here today.
