HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks fell 1.03 percent by the break on Wednesday, following a slump in Shanghai as investors fretted about waning government support for equities.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index lost 242.21 points to 23,232.76 by the end of morning trading on turnover of HK$ 49.29 billion (US$ 6.36 billion).
