ASTANA: Kazakhstan’s grain exports rose to 651,400 tonnes between the beginning of this marketing year on July 1 and Aug. 20 from 633,100 tonnes in the same period of the previous crop season, Agriculture Ministry data showed on Tuesday.
Exports of grain from Kazakhstan, Central Asia’s largest producer and exporter of the commodity, dropped to 6.444 million tonnes in the 2014/15 marketing year from 8.680 million tonnes in the previous season.
The country of 17.5 million expects to export 7 million tonnes of grain in the 2015/16 marketing year, the Agriculture Ministry said this month.
