MUMBAI – Prices of mustard in the benchmark markets of Jaipur, and soybean in Indore fell slightly today.
In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold at 5,875-5,900 rupees per 100 kg, down 75 rupees from Friday. Arrivals in Rajasthan were 8% higher at 270,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg) compared to Friday. Prices across the country were pegged at 525,000 bags, 5% more than on Friday.
“Prices usually fall on Mondays as arrivals are higher after the weekend,” said a Jaipur-based mustard trader.
At several spot markets in Madhya Pradesh, SOYBEAN prices fell due to weak global cues and tepid demand.
“Soyoil during the previous week declined on the Chicago Board of Trade. The dry conditions in Brazil, the lead soybean producing state in Latin America and extreme rains in the southern parts of America have led to a drastic fall in soyoil prices on CBOT. These prices have a direct impact on the domestic markets of India,” said Sanket Gupta, founder of Siya Organics.
In Indore, soybean was sold at 4,100-2,600 rupees per 100 kg, down 300 rupees from Friday.
In Mandsaur, soybean prices were at 4,250-4,600 rupees, and in Bina at 4,200-4,520 rupees. In the markets of Neemuch, prices of soybean were at 4,500-4,700 rupees per 100 kg. End
