MUMBAI – Prices of mustard rose today in the benchmark market of Jaipur, while those of soybean in Indore were unavailable.
In Jaipur, Rajasthan MUSTARD was sold at 5,825-5,850 rupees per 100 kg, up 25 rupees from Wednesday, said a Jaipur-based trader.
Prices were higher due to fewer arrivals. Farmers are bringing fewer bags to mandis because of Diwali. Some mandis were shut and most mandi workers were on leave today, the trader said.
Arrivals of the oilseed in Rajasthan were down by 30,000 bags at 240,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg). Arrivals across the country were pegged at 450,000 bags, compared with 525,000 bags on the previous day of trade.
Some mandis were closed today while most of them in Rajasthan will close from Nov 10 on account of Dhanteras. These will reopen on Nov 16, the trader said.
SOYBEAN prices from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were unavailable as markets were shut for Diwali festival, and because of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections, said Sourabh Kumar, founder of ekisan.net.
He added that various mandis would reopen on Nov 20 in Madhya Pradesh. End
