HAMBURG: Iraq’s state grains board has purchased 100,000 tonnes of hard wheat to be sourced from the Canada in a tender on Tuesday, European traders said.
The wheat was priced at $ 247.20 a tonne c&f free out, they said.
The tender had originally closed on Aug. 30 with offers to remain valid until Sept. 3. But the deadline for offer validity had been extended to Monday, Sept. 7.
Iraq had sought wheat sourced optionally from the United States, Canada, Australia or Russia.
Volumes in Iraq’s wheat tenders are nominal and the country frequently buys more than it tenders for.
