Spot rubber made marginal gains on Tuesday. The market opened weak but regained strength on covering purchases at lower levels possibly following the sustained gains on the NMCE.
RSS 4 was quoted at ₹111.50 (₹111) a kg by traders and the Rubber Board. The grade inched up to ₹108.50 (₹108), according to dealers. September futures improved to ₹113.50 (₹112.86), October to ₹113.49 (₹112.31) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
RSS 3 (spot) closed firm at ₹89.51 (₹88.19) at Bangkok. September futures closed at ¥160 (₹88.73) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. Spot rubber rates (₹/kg): RSS-4: 111.50 (111); RSS-5: 107 (106); Ungraded: 96 (95); ISNR 20: 98 (98) and Latex (60% drc): 80 (79).
