SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Nexenta (@Nexenta), the global leader in Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS), today announced that CEO and Chairman, Tarkan Maner, was presented with a Bronze Stevie® Award in the “Executive of the Year” category, and NexentaStor 4, the company’s flagship OpenSDS platform, was presented with a Silver Stevie® Award in the “New Product or Service of the Year” category, at The 13th Annual American Business Awards on Sept. 11.
The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners during a gala banquet on Friday, September 11 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco. More than 250 nominees and their guests attended for the presentation of new product awards, management awards, app awards, and more.
This year’s American Business Awards were presented at two events. Stevies for excellence in customer service, human resources, marketing, websites, publications, videos, management, and other disciplines were announced in Chicago in June. Last night’s event focused on new product and technology-related categories, tech-related management, and select company/organization categories.
More than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Tech Startup of the Year, Software Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.
Tarkan Maner, CEO and Chairman at Nexenta, was named a winner in the “Executive of the Year” category for “Computer Services & Software” with up to 500 employees. Maner is accredited with driving Nexenta’s continued success in leading the software-defined storage market and is recognized for his leadership as a global thought leader, investor and advisor in the Information Technology industry. NexentaStor 4 has also been a critical part of Nexenta’s success and was named a winner in the “New Product or Service of the Year–Software” category for “Cloud Platform, Storage & Backup Solutions.” The product was recognized for delivering unified file and block storage services, allowing thousands of customers around the world to evolve their storage infrastructure by increasing performance, scalability and flexibility while significantly reducing cost.
“We are honored to be named leaders in innovation by The American Business Awards and am thrilled Nexenta’s innovation in OpenSDS has been further validated through this recognition of NexentaStor 4,” said Tarkan Maner, CEO and Chairman at Nexenta. “Our success would not be possible without the unwavering support of our customers, partners and the entire Nexenta team.”
“We are extremely impressed with the quality of the entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “To those outstanding individuals and organizations that received Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Awards, the judges and I are honored to celebrate your many accomplishments. You are setting a high standard for professionals nationwide.”
