HONG KONG: Hong Kong and Shanghai shares rose on Tuesday following a rally on Wall Street as Federal Reserve chiefs looked to soothe investor concerns over the state of the US economy.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.72 percent, or 156.77 points, to 21,913.7 by the break.
In Shanghai, the benchmark composite index gained 0.65 percent, or 20.48 points, to 3,177.02.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.14 percent, or 2.52 points, to 1,741.16.
