Rubber futures markets end mixed Tuesday as volumes remain light as the Japanese rubber futures markets was closed for the second day due to a national holiday.
The Shanghai rubber futures contract bounced higher paring two days of significant moves lower on the exchange likely due to a slight correction
However, sentiment in the market remains negative with global stocks turning sharply lower Tuesday, as worries about the pace of global growth and uncertainty about the Federal Reserve’s plans to raise interest rates continued to fuel big swings in markets.
Volumes aren’t being helped by holidays in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia on Thursday, India on Friday and Hong Kong on Monday.
