HAMBURG: The Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association has issued an international tender to purchase 92,000 tonnes of grade 1 milling wheat to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Wednesday.
The tender deadline is Nov. 10, they said. The wheat is sought in two consignments.
One consignment of 39,650 tonnes is for shipment between Dec. 21 and Jan. 4 and the second of 52,350 tonnes for Jan. 7-21, they said.
On Sept. 17, a delegation of Taiwanese importers signed agreements with representatives of the US grain industry to buy about $ 3 billion worth of US wheat, corn, soybeans and other crops into 2017.
In its last reported tender on Oct. 6, the Taiwanese association purchased 89,150 tonnes of milling wheat to be sourced from the United States.
