QUETTA: The lawmakers in the session of the Balochistan Assembly unanimously passed a resolution demanding of the government to increase paddy price to support farmers’ community.
Acting Speaker, Mir Abdul Quddoos Bezinjo presided over the assembly session.
Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA, Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali moved the resolution which reads that due to low price of paddy, farmers of Balochistan had faced difficulties and problems.
“There were standing paddy crops on two million acres of land in Sohbatpur, Jafarabad, Nasirabad and Jhal Magsi districts of Balochistan in 2015 but farmers could not get benefit from it due to its low price,”.
The resolution demanded of the government to increase support price of paddy.
Supporting the resolution, Senior Provincial Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, Advisor to Chief Minister, Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party MPA, Syed Liaquat Ali Agha and others said that the government should facilitate the farmers community of Balochistan by announcing support price of paddy.
The speaker put the resolution to the house which passed it unanimously. Later, after completion of other proceedings, the house was adjourned till November 17.
