Spot rubber was almost steady despite a weak closing in domestic futures on Wednesday. The news that the Thailand government would purchase rubber straight from growers paying up to 60 Baht (₹110) a kg kept the sentiment firm.
According to traders, RSS 4 improved to ₹97.50 (₹97) . The grade was quoted unchanged at ₹98 and ₹95 respectively by the Rubber Board and dealers. January futures declined to ₹96.50 (₹98.78), February to ₹98.30 (₹99.12) and March to ₹99.60 (₹99.78) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
RSS 3 (spot) bounced back to ₹79.58 (₹76.72) at Bangkok. January closed at ¥141.3 (₹79.83) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. Spot rubber rates (₹/kg): RSS-4: 97.50 (97); RSS-5: 93 (93); Ungraded: 85(85); ISNR 20: 84.50 (84.50) and Latex (60% drc): 79 (79).
