BANGKOK, 18 January 2016 (NNT) – Bangkok Governor M.R.Sukhumbhand Paribatra on Sunday surveyed the Rot Fai public park for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s project to rubberize road surfaces and sport fields.
The governor was accompanied by executives of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and representatives of relevant organizations. The BMA’s rubber purchase is part of the government’s policy to promote the use of natural rubber in the country. Many government units have been instructed to buy the rubber to build and repair public utilities.
M.R.Sukhumbhand said rubber could be used to repair many sport fields, futsal fields and public parks in Bangkok. The BMA therefore agreed to buy more than 2,000 tons of rubber in an effort to help the farmers affected by the rubber price drop, said the governor.
The old Rot Fai public park is the BMA’s pilot project using rubber for dilapidated public facilities.
