Carpenteria, Calif. — Freudenberg Group’s medical division has expanded its extrusion and molding clean rooms at its silicone operations in Carpinteria.
The firm said the enhancement project includes floor expansion, updated layout and optimized work cells to accommodate future growth. In addition, the clean room now complies with ISO Class 7 guidelines.
“This project has increased our silicone extrusion capacity by over 50 percent and ensures our long-term competitiveness for low, medium and high volume silicone extrusion projects,” Mark Ostwald, vice president and general manger for Freudenberg Medical, Carpinteria, said in a statement. “Our redesigned clean room will improve our lead times substantially while maintaining our tradition of outstanding quality and add value for both current as well as new customers.”
Freudenberg Medical said the silicone extrusion clean room accommodates the following services — post curing, complex braiding and preforming, high precision cut-to-length pigmented/stripped tubing, barium sulfate mixing, laser marking, pad printing, pacakging, and assembling of tubing sets among others.
Freudenberg Medical is formerly Helix Medical and MedVenture. It is a global manufacturer of innovative medical device technologies with 11 manufacturing operations worldwide.
