China’s imports of Nylon 6 chips imports fell 16.52% from January to 22,967 mt in February, a trader said Wednesday, citing customs data.
The majority of imports in February were from Taiwan at 6,185 mt, followed by Belgium with 2,191mt, Thailand with 1,783 mt and the US with 1,766 mt.
The drop in imports could be due to sufficient inventory built up ahead of the Lunar New Year in February and weak demand due to production cuts, a northeast Asian producer said.
Upstream caprolactam imports fell 25.29% from January to 18,229 mt in February, the trader said.
