Premier Plastics Inc. Dowco Inc. adds thermoforming and rotational molding with its acquisition of Premier Plastics Inc., a maker of products for recreational vehicles.
Marine and powersports covers major Dowco Inc. has dramatically boosted the plastics side of its business by acquiring thermoformer and rotational molder Premier Plastics Inc. and its subsidiary Leisure Designs Inc.
Dowco, based in Manitowoc, Wis., has added a 35,000-square-foot plant in Hoyt Lakes, Minn., where Premier is based, Premier’s other factory in Eveleth, Minn., and Leisure Design’s marine furniture systems plant in Pine City, Minn.
Premier targets marine, powersports and construction industries. It produces cargo boxes, tanks, and custom products such as kayaks. Leisure Designs makes plastic deck chairs and similar waterside goods.
Dowco produces boat covers, bimini tops, hardware luggage, and accessories for marine and powersport markets. Dowco’s operations also include manufacturing sites in Lebanon, Mo., Little Falls, Minn., and Fort Wayne, Ind.
