SGM Precision LLC, a contract maker of plastic and metal components for the aerospace, defense and life-science industries, will move from Skokie, Ill., to a larger facility in Northbrook, Ill., later this year.
The 70-year-old business, which counts Fortune 500 corporations amongst its customers, also will add employees as it triples its space to 117,000 square feet at the recently acquired facility. The new site is about 20 minutes away from its existing site, and is on 4 acres of suburban property.
SGM currently has 80 employees and 50 years of experience in machining a variety of thermoset and thermoplastic materials.
“This new building is a testament to our history of high-quality manufacturing and fabrication that has built our brand,” SGM President Howard J. Natal said in a news release. “Our global customers understand that to deliver the exceptional quality and exact tolerances that they demand, requires a facility that is modern, flexible and has the infrastructure to accommodate new fabrication resources.”
In addition to machining plastics, SGM but has been a manufacturer and distributor of plastics since 1957.
