Florence, Ky. — The only molder exhibiting at KraussMaffei Corp.’s May 19 open house is a molder of liquid silicone rubber — Sinicon Plastics Inc., of Dalton, Mass.
Sinicon President David Allen runs 23 injection molding machines, from 22-155 tons of clamping force. Four of them do LSR molding.
Most of the presses are KraussMaffeis, he said.
Allen said the molder came to the KraussMaffei open house because Sinicon bought a KM ClassiX injection molding machine with 56 tons of clamping force. The machine on display at the event in Florence was a standard injection molding machine, not an LSR machine.
KraussMaffei was set to ship the press to Sinicon after the open house, so the machinery company asked Sinicon to exhibit at the open house — held to celebrate KraussMaffei’s 50th anniversary in the United States.
Sinicon specializes in molding engineering resins and LSR for medical, military, aerospace and industrial applications. The processor offers horizontal and vertical insert molding, micromolding, clean room molding, overmolding, secondary machining, assembly and in-house tool building.
