Turkey’s imports of styrene during January and April fell 7% on the year, according to the latest data by statistical agency Turkstat.
Imported styrene volumes totalled 85,213 mt in January-April this year, compared with 91,858 mt in the same period last year.
The reduction in imported volumes is due to year-on-year falls in January and April at 21% and 13% respectively.
In April, the major suppliers to Turkey were Spain (12,545 mt), Saudi Arabia (4,478 mt), US (2,515 mt) and Russia (2,106 mt).
Saudi Arabia has been the largest supplier to Turkey in recent months, but in April, volumes from Spain took the top position.
Exports in the January-April period jumped to 840 mt from 215 mt a year earlier.
Turkey is a net importer of styrene.
