German films manufacturer Infiana Group has said it is strengthening its global strategy by investing about 20 million euros ($ 22.5 million) in its specialty films solutions business.
At its Malvern, Pa., site, the company is investing in printing and coating technology, while in Forcheim, Germany, it has recently acquired a new thermal coating facility. Both projects are scheduled for the first half of 2017, the company said.
CEO Peter Wahsner said: “This investment will allow us to extend our capacity worldwide, to further develop our premium brand strategy and to offer our customers innovative and engineered films solutions. It marks a strategically significant step in the implementation of our global growth plans.”
The company already provides release liners and surface films for the building and construction market in the U.S., as well as supplying specialty films, but with the development of its technological capabilities, it says it is set to serve the personal care and health care markets as well.
The Infiana Group currently employs around 800 people at its three sites located in Germany, the U.S. and Samutsakorn, Thailand. In 2015 the company saw sales of 205 million euros ($ 231.2 million).
