Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. will build a new pipe manufacturing plant in Harrisonville, Mo., to serve growing customer demand in the region.
The Hilliard, Ohio-based maker of water management products expects the 65,000-square-foot facility to open in spring 2017. ADS will produce single- and dual-wall high density polyethylene and polypropylene pipe at the site, including its N-12 large diameter corrugated HDPE pipe.
Other ADS products, including storm chambers, fittings and geosynthetic fabrics, also will be available at the location.
“In addition to freeing up production capacity in the Midwest for our pipe products, the new plant will allow us to meet the growing demand for all of our products in the region while helping to reduce the time and cost of delivery to our customers,” ADS Chairman and CEO Joe Chlpapaty said in a news release.
Founded in 1966, ADS currently operates 61 manufacturing plants and 31 distribution centers. The company had mentioned plans for the new plant during an earnings call last month, but it did not identify the location. ADS will spend $ 9 million to $ 10 million into land improvements and the building in Harrisonville. The new plant will employ 75-80 people.
