Sumitomo Rubber has announced it has signed an agreement to participate in the Sustainable Natural Rubber Initiative (SNR-i), established by the International Rubber Study Group.
The initiative aims to establish a sustainable global natural rubber economy, balancing “economic, environmental and societal needs throughout the entire supply chain from production to consumption”. It follows guidelines for five aspects of the natural rubber supply chain, including supporting continuous improvements in productivity, natural rubber quality, supporting forest and woodland sustainability, water usage management and respecting basic human rights and labour rights.
