KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia’s natural rubber (NR) production rose 3.3 per cent to 62,010 tonnes in October 2016 from 60,058 tonnes in September, said the Department of Statistics (DoS). The DoS, in a statement here Tuesday said the smallholding sector was the main contributor to the NR production, accounting for 91.5 per cent. It said the average monthly price of latex concentrate increased 31.57 sen per kilogramme (kg) to 487.70 sen per kg from the previous month.
