Domestic rubber prices lost heavily in tune with the sharp declines in the global markets on Monday. In spot, RSS 4 surrendered to ₹120 (125.50) a kg according to traders. The grade dropped to ₹121 (125) and ₹118 (122) respectively according to the Rubber Board and the dealers. In futures, June contracts weakened to Rs. 118.09 (120.44), July to Rs. 120.48 (123.34) and August to ₹122.50 (125.75) on NMCE. RSS 3 (spot) declined to ₹116.83 (128.49) a kg at Bangkok. June futures slid to ₹124.61 (131.73) on TOCOM. Spot rubber rates (₹/kg) were: RSS-4: 120 (125.50); RSS-5: 118 (123.50); ISNR 20: 110 (115) and Latex (60% drc): 91 (91.50).
