TOKYO (Oct 11): Benchmark Tokyo rubber futures ended slightly lower on Wednesday, hovering around a 1½-week low hit in the previous session, amid sluggish Shanghai futures and a stronger yen against the dollar, brokers said.
The Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for March delivery finished 0.1 yen lower at 201.7 yen (US$1.80) per kg, after touching a 1½-week low of 200.4 yen on Tuesday.
The US dollar was quoted around 112.26 yen compared with around 112.67 yen on Tuesday afternoon.
The most-active rubber contract on the Shanghai futures exchange for January delivery fell 105 yuan to finish at a near three-month low of 13,245 yuan (US$2,013) per tonne.
The front-month rubber contract on Singapore’s SICOM exchange for November delivery last traded at 143.40 US cents per kg, down 0.1 cent.
