HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the week with a small drop but pared morning losses following news that China would further open its financial sector to foreign firms.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.05 percent, or 15.65 points, to close at 29,120.92.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.14 percent, or 4.88 points, to 3,432.67 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, rose 0.52 percent, or 10.48 points, to 2,039.17.
