TOKYO (Nov 14): Benchmark Tokyo rubber futures hit a near one-week high on Tuesday, propped up by gains in Shanghai futures that hit their strongest in over a month.
The Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for April delivery finished 0.1 yen higher at 202 yen (US$1.78) per kg. It gained as high as 205.5 yen, hovering close to a one-month high of 207 yen hit last week.
The most-active rubber contract on the Shanghai futures exchange for January delivery rose 75 yuan to finish at 14,105 yuan (US$2,124) per tonne. Earlier in the session, it touched 14,295 yuan, highest since Sept. 28.
The front-month rubber contract on Singapore’s SICOM exchange for December delivery last traded at 143.10 US cents per kg, down 0.6 cent.
