KOTTAYAM, JAN. 22:
Spot rubber declined on Tuesday.
The prices dropped further on buyer resistance though there was no selling pressure in the market either from traders or growers. Sheet rubber surrendered to Rs 159 (160) a kg, according to traders. The grade dropped to Rs 160 (160.50) a kg at Kottayam and Kochi as reported by the Rubber Board.
The February series weakened to Rs 157.90 (158.14), March to Rs 159.99 (160.47), April to Rs 163.50 (164.18), May to Rs 166.12 (168.03) and July to Rs 170.97 (171) a kg on the NMCE. RSS 3 (spot) inched up to Rs 179.44 (179.18) a kg at Bangkok.
The January futures for the grade declined to ¥294.9 (Rs 178.47) from ¥297.3 during the day session and then to ¥293 (Rs 177.39) in the night session on TOCOM.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 159 (160); RSS-5: 154 (155); ungraded: 147.50 (150); ISNR 20: 156 (157) and latex 60 per cent: 105 (105.50).
