KOTTAYAM, JAN. 24:
Spot rubber finished unchanged on Thursday. The transactions were in an extremely low key as the market appeared to be in a holiday mood owing to Id-e-Milad. Weakness in the domestic and international futures kept the commodity under pressure during closing hours.
Sheet rubber finished unchanged at Rs 159 a kg, according to traders. The grade slipped to Rs 159.50 (160) a kg at Kottayam and Kochi, according to the Rubber Board.
The February series weakened to Rs 158.75 (159.64), March to Rs 160.89 (162.03), April to Rs 164.30 (165.11) and May to Rs 168.29 (168.44) a kg on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
RSS 3 (spot) dropped to Rs 176.56 (177.54) a kg at Bangkok. The January futures weakened to ¥290.1 (Rs 174.02) from ¥292.5 during the day session, but then remained unchanged in the night session on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 159 (159); RSS-5: 153 (153); ungraded: 147.50 (147.50); ISNR 20: 155 (155) and latex 60 per cent: 105 (105).
