CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for soybeans firmed at processors around the US Midwest early on Thursday as dealers sought to boost crushing supplies.
But sales of the oilseed remained low, with prices well below growers’ targets.
Weakness in the futures market further chilled selling interest, an Ohio dealer said.
Soybean bids held steady at interior elevators but were steady to firm at river terminals.
Bids for corn were mixed at processors and elevators after firming in most locations earlier this week.
Corn bids continued to rise at ethanol plants.
