CHICAGO: The following is a snapshot of global export markets for grains, oilseeds and edible oils as reported by government and private sources as of the close of business on Wednesday:
SOYBEAN SALE: Exporters sell U.S. soybeans to unknown destinations – USDA.
WHEAT PURCHASE: Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture said it would import 1,510 tonnes of feed-quality wheat for livestock use via a simultaneous buy and sell (SBS) auction that closed late on Wednesday.
MEAL TENDER: South Korea’s NOFI tenders for up to 18,000 tonnes palm kernel expellers, 12,000 tonnes copra meal. Tenders close on Jan. 11.
WHEAT PURCHASE: Morocco’s state grains agency ONICL awarded 363,636 tonnes of European Union soft wheat imports under a annual preferential-tariff quota, traders said on Wednesday. The wheat should arrive in Morocco by May 31 at the latest.
WHEAT PURCHASE: The Taiwan Flour Millers’ Association last week bought 73,635 tonnes of milling wheat to be sourced from the United States, European traders said on Wednesday. The wheat was bought in two consignments for shipment from the U.S. Pacific North West coast.
WHEAT, BARLEY TENDER: Jordan’s state grain buyer is seeking 100,000 tonnes of wheat and 100,000 tonnes of barley in two separate purchase tenders, a government source said on Wednesday. The shipment dates for both tenders are July and August, he said. The deadline for wheat offers is Jan. 23 and for barley is Jan. 24.
PENDING TENDERS:
WHEAT TENDER: Jordan’s state grains buyer has issued an international tender to purchase up to 20,000 tonnes of bran wheat bran, European traders said. The tender closes on Jan. 11.
WHEAT TENDER: Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture is seeking to buy a total of 91,087 tonnes of food-quality wheat from the United States and Canada in a regular tender that will close on Jan. 11.
RICE TENDER: Iran’s state grains buyer GTC has issued an international tender to buy 45,000 tonnes of rice to be sourced from India, European traders said on Monday. The tender closes on Jan. 14. The sella grade rice is sought in three consignments for shipment in April 2018, they said.
BARLEY TENDER: Iranian state-owned animal feed importer SLAL has issued an international tender to purchase up to 180,000 tonnes of animal feed barley, European traders said. Offers in the tender must be submitted by Feb. 12 and would be opened on Feb. 13, they said.
SOYMEAL TENDER: Iranian state-owned animal feed importer SLAL has issued an international tender to purchase up to 120,000 tonnes of soymeal, European traders said. Offers in the tender must be submitted by Feb. 17 and would be opened on Feb. 18, they said.
