KOTTAYAM, FEB. 15:
Spot rubber remained unchanged on Friday. The market sentiment was partially affected by another weak closing in domestic and international futures. According to observers, major consuming industries are still comfortable with imports and are avoiding domestic purchases.
Sheet rubber settled unchanged at Rs 156.50 a kg, according to traders. The grade closed steady at Rs 157 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi, as quoted by the Rubber Board.
The February series expired at Rs 156.40 (Rs 157.73) while the March series weakened to Rs 158.15 (Rs 159.68), April to Rs 161.74 (Rs 162.82), May to Rs 165 (Rs 165.94) and June to Rs 167.50 (Rs 171.43) a kg on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
RSS-3 (spot) slid to Rs 176.59 (Rs 176.96) a kg at Bangkok. The February contract dropped to ¥306 (Rs 179.17) from ¥312 a kg during the day session and then to ¥304.3 (Rs 178.16) in the night session on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
